in the nature of Human beings, there is making mistakes, or intentionally committing , but there is also forgiveness and justice. There so many people who may be jailed mistakenly or sentenced to serve their punishment according to crime committed and justice served.
Islam gives a portion of Zakat, sadaqatt collected for prisoners In the category in holy Quran “Muallafat Qulub& Riqab”.
This indicates how Islam cares about prisoners in jails. for those who are innocently but mistakenly jailed, we help them, get Justice and that is to be freed and compensated, while those confess committing their crimes and they know justice must take its action, Islam has a portion of Charity for them when they are in prison for the following:
- Feed their families
- Freedom for those who innocent by paying their bail, but if later it happens that evidence says otherwise they must pay back all money spent to them and disqualified for any further help including family members involves in the lies.
- Those who confess their crimes, that portion of Money in charity allocated for them helps their family members to cater for other essentials such a education, getting them married, sickness, etc.
- Visiting prisons and give hope to Inmates , feeding them, clothing them, and help them keep ties with their families.
Visiting Prisons
Visiting prisons is not a choice to Islam but a must to address the inmates about goodness of repentance from their crimes. since they stay in closed doors and they are convicted for their crimes they committed, the only conversation they between each other is to learn how to commit more crime. Its clear that most people who committee crimes in the community are ex convicts simply because they did not get the healing during their term in prison.
This clearly indicates an obligation of community to always send a team of visitor to prisons who share with inmates and show them another way of life free from crime, so that when they come back in the society they resort back to crime but they are actually best examples.
As an organisation, we send a team of visitors to prison inmates , dine with them, share gifts to them, lecture on the best way of life that gives them hope that there is life after prison.
When continue to console them when they are released , we provide with psychological therapy that neutralize them from criminals into good citizens. we continue to give them support, train them necessary skills so that they can fit in the society again.
