Food Distribution

Distribution of food to those in need is the main purpose of collecting Zakat, Sadaqat and Lillah in order to avoid neglecting some one to starve for food when the need comes.

its an obligation of a Muslim individual and community feed the poor and those in need for different reasons include the following:

  • Lost Job and can not afford to earn
  • Guardian who have children in their care
  • Orphanage
  • Widows
  • Old Age
  • People with dis-ability , enabled in a different way.
  • Homeless

Ways of distribution of food to poor and needy:

  • Feeding Scheme, food is cooked and served in one identified place where people gather as particular time.
  • Grocery Hampers, This a collection of home essentials such as sugar, tea, salt, cooking oil, rice, maize meal, flour, beans , in one package and distribute to homes those who can cook their meals.
  • Sending expenditures on grocery to bank accounts of needy and poor to but food for them selves.
  • Contracting stores for grocery such Shoprite, Pick and Pay, Game, etc a country wide super market with stores in every place of South Africa to supply grocery to particular clients who will open an account with the store manager. The needy or Poor person will go to the store and choose anything he or she wants in grocery and we pay the accounts.
  • Gift cards, the grocery store will create once off accounts for our organisation and give gift Cards related to those accounts to our Department of Auditor General who credit those accounts, and then we give those cards away to those in need and the poor to shop grocery of their choice worthy amount credited on the card.
  • We Buy Grocery and pack it with donor, and then wait for people to come and pick from out offices.
  • Targeting particular group of people such us school children, and we work together with school management for distribution of either lunch or break fast to school children.
  • Feeding on Mosques every after Juma Salah on Friday , as soon people finish their salah, food is distributed to them.
  • Feeding on Eid day as soon as salah finish, people who come Salah sit together and eat before they go from praying Area.
  • Feeding in Ramadan for Iftar, feeding those who are fasting Three meals, as soon as the sun sets, they eat less only to break fast, fruits and drinks are served, and feeding after Maghrib Salah which is supper, and feeding after Taraweh Salah.
  • Feeding on Conference about Islam.
